Social Media Explosion Continues

Well, it’s official:  Social Media is an explosion and Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn have not only survived, they have transformed the way we communicate.

In the early days of the Internet, when you often watched your friends’ eyes gloss over when you began discussing it, many if not most believed the web was a passing fad. Talk-show hosts made jokes about it, businessmen guffawed, and the media was indifferent.  Today, that indecisive period is over and it is impossible to watch the evening news without a reference to your local channel’s website.

The same has occurred with Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.  The ubiquitous blue Twitter logo is everywhere, Facebook has become an enormous part of the world culture, LinkedIn has become the goto place for career growth and the evening newscasters seldom finish their reporting without mentioning at least one of them.
